FanimeCon announces Hiroyuki Yamaga and Halko Momoi
San Jose, CA (May 10, 2011) - FanimeCon welcomes back two Guests of Honor: GAINAX founder Hiroyuki Yamaga and pop idol Halko Momoi. These guests have inspired and excited fans at previous conventions, and they will return to the San Jose Convention Center over Memorial Day Weekend for FanimeCon 2011.
As one of the founders of GAINAX, Hiroyuki Yamaga has worked in many aspects of anime production, such as planning Gunbuster 2, producing Neon Genesis Evangelion, working on screenplay for Mobile Suit Gundam 0080, and directing Royal Space Force, Wings of Honneamise. Although GAINAX's works have had tremendous impact on what people think of the Japanese anime industry today, Mr. Yamaga has taken time out of his busy schedule to visit FanimeCon every year for well over a decade because he enjoys interacting with fans. Mr. Yamaga inspired FanimeCon to create the Yamaga-san Party, which provides an opportunity for Guests of Honor and fans to chat and mingle together in a casual setting.
Queen of Akihabara, Halko Momoi is an energetic and powerful singer who also provides the voice for anime characters such as Nurse Witch Komogi, Majokko Tsukune-chan, and Feiris Nyannyan in Steins;Gate. The tremendous response from her fans has moved her to return to FanimeCon for the third year. In 2010, Ms. Momoi planned a unique and fun event consisting of a series of performances: The Quest for Momoi.
Both of the returning guests will have panels and autograph sessions, and the schedule for their events will be available at www.fanime.com. These returning guests have also made unique contributions to FanimeCon that have greatly enriched the experience of people attending the convention.
