News for Zenkaikon 2011:

Zenkaikon announces 2011 attendance and Japan relief effort donation

VALLEY FORGE, PA - March 29, 2011 - Zenkaikon is pleased to announce attendance numbers for its 5th annual convention, which took place March 18-20, 2011. The staff of Zenkaikon 2011 welcomed 3168 paid members -- a 59% increase over their last event. Including guests, vendors, artists, staff, press, and other complimentary memberships, 3422 people were present at the 2011 convention.

During the convention, Zenkaikon also collected donations for the American Red Cross' Japanese Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund. Donations were collected at the Zenkaikon merchandise table and at the convention's large events. Zenkaikon is happy to announce that with donations from attendees, staff, guests, and artists, nearly $3000 was collected for relief efforts. "It was heartwarming to see the generosity of our attendees this year. The amount raised does not even count the many artists who were collecting funds for their charities of choice," says Head of Communications Kristyn Souder. Zenkaikon matched 25% of collected contributions, with a total of $3750 being donated to the Red Cross' Japanese Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund.

Zenkaikon would like to thank all the staff, volunteers, vendors, guests, and attendees who made its 2011 convention the largest and most successful one yet. The Zenkaikon staff looks forward to announcing the convention's 2012 dates and location shortly.
