The St. Louis anime convention Kawa Kon announces its final round of guests, including voice actor guest of honor Robert Axelrod.
Axelrod, best known as the voice of Lord Zedd from Might Morphin Power Rangers, has voiced a variety of anime characters from shows such as "Cowboy Bebop", "Digimon", and the upcoming "Adventures of Nadja". He will present three panels at the convention on voice acting and his life playing Lord Zedd both as a voice and as a performer in the traveling Power Rangers stage show.
This week, Kawa Kon also announced St. Louis Osuwa Taiko, a taiko drumming group founded in part by Grandmaster Daihachi Oguchi, as musical guests. St. Louis Osuwa Taiko will present a high-energy taiko drumming performance and hands-on workshop on Saturday of Kawa Kon.
Three Rivers Okiya, a geisha historical performance group, will host two Japanese tea ceremonies during the weekend as well as a geisha dance demonstration and Q&A about the life of a geisha. Three Rivers Okiya seeks to demonstrate the many talents of the geisha through tea ceremony, dance, and song.
Along with already-annoucned guests Bunraku Bay Puppet Troupe, artist Amelie Belcher, cosplayer Cindy Brown, and St. Louis Kimono-san, the new group of guests will help make Kawa Kon's 2010 Matsuri! theme even better than 2009's Mechs and Marshmallows theme.
