Amanda Winn-Lee
she/her
Actor / Writer
Los Angeles, CA, USA
Biography:
Amanda first became an actor to work her way through waitressing school. Her dreams of artistic obscurity were dashed when she met the good folks at ADV Films just as anime was first coming to the United States. She voiced a lot of classic characters- Yohko from Devil Hunter Yokho, Rally Vincent from Gunsmith Cats, Gally from Battle Angel, Rio from the Burn Up series, Momiji in Blue Seed, and many more (check out her page on IMDb). Most notably she was involved in the Evangelion series as the voice of Rei Ayanami. She also wrote ADR scripts, directed, and produced large portions of Evangelion and other shows, but all anyone seems to care about is the blue haired chick.
After an illicit beanie baby deal fell through, she fled to Los Angeles where she planned to lay low and focus on her okra collection. Instead, she unrepentantly continued her voice acting career. Voicing characters in video games adds to her list of crimes against humanity, including playing Magnolia Arch in the Bravely Second series, Maria Torres in Trauma Team, Konoko in Oni, and Heather in the remastered release of Silent Hill 3 to name a few. (Seriously, check out her IMDb)
Though she still does voice over work here and there, Amanda's main passion is making the Super Neko Anime Cat Café a reality. It will serve as a sanctuary for old cats about to be put down, and it will have a job training program for special needs young adults. Right now she lives in LA with her husband, her son, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a 100lb tortoise.
