Biography:
David Nykl was born in Prague and moved with his family to Canada at the age of two. He started acting and performing at an early age and directed and produced his first play while in high school. He is best known to the TimeGate audience for his 5-year stint on Stargate Atlantis portraying Dr. Radek Zelenka in a total of 54 episodes including classics like "The Game", "The Last Man", "The Tao of Rodney", "Be All My Sins Remember'd" and the 3-part epic "The Siege". In addition to his work on Atlantis, David has appeared on shows such as Jake 2.0, Dead Zone, Psyche, Eureka, Sanctuary, Fringe and Mortal Kombat: Legacy. His film work includes Helen with Ashley Judd and David Hewlett, The Beast of Bottomless Lake, Voodoo, and Love Lies Bleeding with Faye Dunaway and Malcolm McDowell. David still has a passion for theatre, and in 1994 he co-founded Prague's Misery Loves Company Theatre. David is fluent in English, Czech, French and Spanish. When speaking Czech dialogue in Atlantis, David was given his lines in English and he translated them himself.
