Manifest is run by the not-for-profit group Melbourne Anime Festival Incorporated which is put together and ran entirely by volunteers.
Manifest started as a screenings festival back in 1998 ran by several university clubs at Melbourne University. It has been known as Manifest since the year 2000 and since then has been steady growing, adding more activities to do over the years.
In the year 2009, the organisation decided that Melbourne University no longer could contain the rising patronage and the step was taken to move it to the Melbourne Showgrounds. Since then it has grown and to be the largest Anime focused convention in Australia.
Today, the committees that run Melbourne Anime Festival meet several times a month to bring you the best convention they can.
