News for Otakuthon 2008:

Otakuthon 2008 announces dates and new location

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA (February 1, 2008) - Otakuthon is pleased to officially announce the 3rd edition of Montreal's fan-run anime convention will take place on July 26 - 27, 2008.

Due to the enormous success of Otakuthon 2007, Otakuthon 2008 will be held at a new location - the Palais des congrès de Montréal. This world-class, ultramodern convention center is located in the heart of downtown Montreal in the International District (Quartier international) and is only a few minutes away from both Chinatown and Old Montreal.

Otakuthon 2008 will see the return of many popular events such as the Masquerade, the Otakuthon Idol Competition, the Saturday Night Dance, and the AMV Contest Screening & Award Show. Thanks to the more spacious facilities that the Palais des congrès has to offer, popular areas such as the Dealers' and Artists' Areas as well as the video gaming area will be larger than previous years. Unlike previous years, all Otakuthon events will take place on one floor and be conveniently located next to each other so that all con-goers may fully enjoy the anime convention experience.

More information as well as online pre-registration for the convention will soon be available on the Otakuthon's newly redesigned website at http://www.otakuthon.com. More updates and information will be coming in mid-February.
