News for San Japan 2008:

San Japan announces second round of guests

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – April 10, 2008 – San Japan, San Antonio's first major Japanese Culture and Anime Convention, has announced the second round of guests for its debut convention happening by the history Riverwalk: voice actors Christopher Ayers, Tiffany Grant, Josh Grelle and Samantha Inoue-Harte along with industrial guest Patrick Delahanty and cosplay guests CapsuleCorp and DigitalDimensionCosplay.

Christopher Ayers currently works as a voice actor for ADV and Funimation. He has recently been working as an ADR Director for ADV Films. His first project for the studio was The Nerima Daikon Brothers in addition to that he is also the director for Xenosaga: The Animation and Magikano. Some of the roles as a voice actor Chris is best known for are Kei Kourono in Gantz, Suitengu in Speed Grapher, Von Kampher in Trinity Blood and Sid in Devil May Cry.

Tiffany Grant is a native Texan, is very glad to be at the first San Japan. Best known as Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Tiffany was the first voice actor hired by ADV in February 1994. She's voiced characters in over 950 TV episodes. Some of her recent projects include Yoko from Gurren Lagann, Auntie from The Wall Flower, Ayaka from Kurau: Phantom Memory and Rika from Maginako. Ms. Grant has written English dubbing scripts for TV series such as Angelic Layer, Maburaho, Godannar, Ah! My Goddess Season 2 and The Wallflower.

A native Texan, Josh Grelle was raised on stage and in the art studios of Central Texas. He performed on stage for over 15 years prior to starting work for ADV Films at the start of 2004. Josh is known for playing the outrageous Taishi in Comic Party: Revolution and has recently been cast as Kyohei in the new Shinichi Watanabe (AKA Nabeshin) comedy, The Wallflower as well as Simon in Gainax's Gurren Lagann.

Additional special guests include Patrick Delahanty who is the creator of The Chibi Project and the Webmaster of AnimeCons.com. CapsuleCorp, who hails from Madison, Wisconsin has won several best in class awards at several prestigious conventions and poised to become a master costumer. DigitalDimensionCosplay who comprise of the talented DugFinn and Mr. 3000 with a goal to cosplay the vast and diverse array of video game characters and win a multitude of gaming tournaments in the process.

As previous announced on its official website, http://www.san-japan.org, San Japan has a solid lineup of other guests coming to San Antonio for its debut convention including music dance group Smile.dk known from the video game series Dance Dance Revolution, Vic Mignoga from FullMetal Alchemist, music artist DM Ashura, New-School Hip-Hop artist Maja and Anime-Music Remixer DJ Jinnai.

San Japan will be held from August 8th through the 10th at the San Antonio Municipal Auditorium and the El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel. San Japan will be having its debut three-day convention this year after a successful one-day convention called Zero Day Anime back in November 2007 at Our Lady Of The Lake University. Planned events include cosplay events where attendees dress as their favorite characters, video screenings, gaming tournaments, guest panels, workshops, anime-themed dances, concerts, autograph signings with the guests, and San Japan will be bringing a distinct style of Japanese culture to the Alamo City.
