New York Comic Con names new Program Director and announces Kids' Day
New York Comic Con announced that it has appointed senior staff member Jay Williams to the post of Manager of Programming & Education. In a related announcement, show organizers note that one of Williams' first initiatives is the launch of Kids' Day, an all-day program on Sunday, April 20 which will focus on events and activities designed to attract and entertain young fans.   [read more] [discuss]

World Cosplay Summit partners with New York Anime Festival
The New York Anime Festival has announced that they will be the site of the World Cosplay Summit's Official USA Preliminary Round. According to the press release, the winners of the convention's masquerade will receive a free trip to Japan to represent the USA in the World Cosplay Summit Finals in 2008. Anime Supercon announces Toys for Tots as their official charity for 2007
Anime Supercon has announced that they will be partnering with Toys for Tots - The U.S. Marine Corp. toy drive. A Toys for Tots drop off station will be set up at the show next to the registration area and attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the show or to purchase a toy in the exhibition room to donate.   [read more] [discuss]
