News for Zuiichi 2008:

Dreamland Japan announces pianist Jen Cho as guest at Zuiichi

Zuiichi, the inaugural event from Dreamland Japan, is a one day event of indulgence for the "fandom fan". Dreamland Japan is proud to announce pianist Jen Cho as the first guest of honor.

Jen Cho was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to Portland, OR in 2005 where she divides her time between the classical and rock music realms. She is currently studying the piano at Portland State University, in between tours of the otaku world with the Chinatown Dance Rock band, The Slants. As a fan of the Final Fantasy games, Cho's appearance at Zuiichi will afford her the rare opportunity to perform some well-loved piano pieces from the series.

In honor of Miss Cho's visit, Dreamland Japan offers a welcome gift to the next ten pre-registered full-day attendees. This gift includes a copy of The Slants' album, Slanted Eyes, Slanted Hearts, as well as a collection of Slants memorabilia.

Zuiichi is an event dedicated to bringing the love of Japanese culture and related "fandom" to a more diverse, mature, and professional audience. Japanese fashion and animation get the front stage, and Joss Whedon productions will prevail in our state of the art theaters. Eat gourmet award-winning cuisine from four star restaurant Vinetopia, while sipping sake and enjoying interesting informational panels run by fans and experts from the Japanese fandom industry. Spend real face time with musical, artistic, and thespian guests in an intimate setting as they present in depth conversations on their area of interest. Enjoy the costumes worn by our staff, or get brave and wear your own.

Dreamland Japan is proud to bring you Zuiichi is the event of the year for the avid fashionista, Joss Whedon fan, discriminating otaku, and mildly interested gourmand alike. Food, viewing, tasting, guests, and excellent service are included in the price of your ticket.
