News for Sogen Con 2005:

New guests and events announced for Sogen Con

For Immediate Release

Marshall, MN (February 18th, 2005) - Sogen Con, would like to announce the following:

EVENTS

  • A cosplay workshop has been added and will take place throughout the day on Saturday, ending with a cosplay contest. Topics to be covered include, character selection and design, prop and weapon fabrication, working with wigs and preparing for a contest.

  • As the first in a series of kid friendly activities, Sogen Con would like to invite everyone in the anime community to attend a tea party with Hello Kitty. Monica Rial, the voice of Hello Kitty in ADV's release of Hello Kitty Animation Theater, as well as several other cast members will join attendees for an afternoon treat followed by an autograph session.

GUESTS - Sogen Con is excited to announce the following additions to the guest list:

  • Michael Coleman - Michael has worked in a variety of roles including parts in Ranma 1/2, Dragon Ball Z, Infinite Ryvius, Hamtaro and Zoids.

  • Luci Christian - Luci is a prolific VA who has lent her talents to many memorable characters, such as, Miss Yukari in Azumanga Daioh, Kaname Chidori in Full Metal Panic, Satoshi 'Sasshi' Imamiya in Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, and many more memorable performances.

  • Christine Auten - Christine has provided voices for a variety of characters among them, Sakaki in Azumanga Daioh, Priss in Bubblegum Crisis, Shino Hayakawa in Princess Nine, Genie in Rune Soldier, and Marin in Saint Seiya just to name a few.

  • Tiffany Grant - Tiffany has voiced some of the most memorable characters in all of anime as Maki in Burn-up and Burn-up W, Satella Harvenheit in Chrono Crusade, Charlotte in Kaleido Star, Ryoko Subaru in Nadesico, Daiko Hayami of Cutey Honey, Altena in Noir, Yoko Tokashiki in Princess Nine, Jun in Sol Bianca, and of course Asuka Langley Sohryu in Neon Genesis Evangelion. While the list may seem long, it's only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the massive talent that Tiffany brings with her everywhere she goes.

  • Robert DeJesus - A 15-year veteran in the industry, Robert has worked for 989 Studios, Dark Horse Comics, Guitar World Magazine, Hasbro, Limelight Publishing Inc., Marvel Comics, PlayStation Magazine (PSM), Radio Comix, and Anime Insider Magazine. With wife Emily, he started Studio Capsule.

  • Emily DeJesus - Robert's better half and co-founder of Studio Capsule, Emily is a blessing to anyone who has ever had cosplay questions. Filled with helpful hints and insight on a variety of cosplay topics, Emily is a welcome addition to our guest list.

Last but not least, Sogen Con is very proud and excited in announcing the performance of J-pop artist, Kumiko Kato. Kumiko Kato is planning to release her debut single in April 2005, and has given energetic performances to crowds at Ushicon, AnimeFest!, and Nan Desu Kan. Sogen Con is glad to have her joining in our fun as well.
