News for ConnectiCon 2010:

Connecticon announces first round of guests and opens registration

Connecticon is pleased to announce its first round of guests! Voice actors Carlos Ferro and Daniel Kevin Harrison as well as several webcomic artists will all be returning to Connecticut's largest pop-culture convention in 2010.

Carlos Ferro is one of the leading voice acting talents working in the industry today. A star of the award-winning Gears of War and Gears of War 2, Ferro is known to video game fans worldwide as the voice of Dom Santiago, as well as the voice of Michael Corleone in The Godfather II and Leonardo da Vinci in Assassin's Creed 2. Anime fans know him as the evil Thomas Waltham from Golgo 13: Queen Bee. Ferro is also an accomplished actor and has starred in shows such as Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Daniel Kevin Harrison is an actor, producer, and writer. His anime VA credits include Gokudo, Gravitation, Madara, Shingu, and KO Beast. He has appeared in feature films such as Clint Eastwood's Bird, The Langoliers, and Wake. This is Daniel's fifth appearance at Connecticon, and he encourages all fans to come to his panels and say hi.

The following webcomic artists will be returning to Connecticon as guests of honor:

ConnectiCon is a fan-run, membership based organization for fans of sequential art (web comics, anime, comic books, etc.), hobby games (tabletop miniatures, roleplaying, board games, etc.), electronic gaming (consoles, PC, arcade, etc.), science fiction, fantasy, horror and related genres. ConnectiCon's mission is to enable fans and creators, to bring a broader understanding of the industries and hobbies represented by the fans and professionals within our organization.

This year Connecticon's annual convention will occur from Friday July 9 through Sunday July 11, 2010 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT.

Pre-Registration for Connecticon 2010 is now open! To get the early-bird All-Weekend rate of $35 go to Connecticon.org to purchase your membership by Saturday, March 20th 2010.

To make attending the convention more affordable, ConnectiCon has reserved a room block at the Hartford Marriott Downtown, conveniently connected to the convention center, at a rate of $145/night for double or king-bed rooms, with a maximum of 4 occupants per room. The room block is limited and typically sells out quickly, if the room block sells out information regarding overflow hotels will be posted on the Connecticon website.
