Biography:
Mackie is best known for starring as "The Falcon" in Marvel's CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and spin-off films as the first African American superhero. WINTER SOLDIER was the second highest grossing film of 2014. Last summer, Anthony reprised his role in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR alongside Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Chris Evans.


Anthony recently portrayed Martin Luther King Jr. in HBO's ALL THE WAY with Bryan Cranston and starred in Jonathan Levine's comedy THE NIGHT BEFORE for Sony, with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He starred in Warner Brothers' OUR BRAND IS CRISIS opposite Sandra Bullock with David Gordon Green directing. Mackie was also featured in John Hillcoat's film TRIPLE NINE alongside Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Woody Harrelson, Kate Winslet, Aaron Paul, and Teresa Palmer.

Anthony, one of the most-respected actors of his generation, is well-known from the Oscar-winning films THE HURT LOCKER and MILLION DOLLAR BABY, as well as THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU, 8 MILE, WE ARE MARSHALL, and HALF NELSON. At last year's Toronto Film Festival, Anthony had two films premiere - Paul Bettany's directorial debut SHELTER starring opposite Jennifer Connolly, and Mike Binder's film BLACK AND WHITE with Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer. Anthony can be seen in Dreamworks' THE FIFTH ESTATE directed by Bill Condon alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, Laura Linney, Stanley Tucci, and Daniel Bruhl, Warner Brother's GANGSTER SQUAD alongside Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone and Paramount's PAIN AND GAIN with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson. His numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway theater credits are also wildly impressive; last on the Broadway stage starring in Martin McDonagh's A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE with Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, and Zoe Kazan, MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM DROWNING CROW, MCREELE, A SOLDIER'S PLAY, understudied Don Cheadle just out of Juilliard in TOP DOG/UNDERDOG, won an OBIE Award for his role in Carl Hancock Rux's play TALK, and starred in three plays by August Wilson at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC: Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Fences, and Jitney. In addition, Anthony has participated several times in the "24-Hour Plays" held in New York City each fall.
